Soaring Outside Limiting Options (or opinions)
I wonder, is there an underwhelming sense of self that follows one, who cannot live life as we were born- alone, singular souled. To be clear, I am curious but I do not stand in judgment. Coming from a place of toxic, unhealthy attachments, I’ve come to understand the gift & the curse, laying under the surface of dependability. From vices, too humans, and everything in-between, we define ourselves by our possessions, relationships, employment titles, etc. But outside of that, who are we? Who are you, standing alone?

By traveling solo, I began to answer that question for myself. “Who I am, outside of sister, daughter, manager, student, friend, and occasional gym goer”. More importantly, “Who am I” outside of the unfair & downright unfortunate situations I was forced to grow through. I declared some time ago, my situations, my circumstances will not be my story. I’ll like to believe the same is true, can be true, for you.
TIP #1: Begin asking yourself the questions: “Who am I, alone? What activities do I wish to do, alone?” Analyze your responses.
I have a friend, who’s never taken the train/subway in New York. I am going to advise you as I did her; “start with a stop”. I know, I know @ $2.75 a swipe, just going one stop, when you can nearly travel through four of five boroughs with that same swipe, sounds financially irresponsible. I am aware. Yet, my answer remains the same. Start with a stop.
Tip 2: It's time to condition your mind. It’s time to “start with a stop.” Those responses you’ve written, those solo dreams you’ve carried around, they may seem unlikely to be fulfilled. Yet, if you can imagine the route taken to arrive at your desired destination, the next stop, the first move, will reveal itself.
Conditioning one's mind, it’s a task rarely completed by the weak minded. If you’ve stuck with yourself (remember this is ONLY for YOU), congratulate yourself. Soaring outside of limiting options, also is no easy task. Especially, when society tells us, all we are, is what we possess. It’s not true. There’s an entire world, in and outside of you.
Tip 3: Let’s live. Even the smallest step, is further along than where you are now. Repeat tips one & two as long as you feel necessary. The rest, with an open and willing mind, you will figure out for you.
Go SOLO, my loves. Go SOLO.
